Alcoholism Ministry

Archpriest, Father Andrew Harrison.

Name:Archpriest Andrew Harrison
Job: Alcoholism Ministry Leader
Email:oandrey@stlukeorthodox.com

I am a certified Drug and Alcohol addiction counselor. I was trained by the Betty Ford Center in Palm Springs California. I was employed by the Veterans Administration for 10 years as Chaplain in the inpatient alcohol treatment facility. During that time I was responsible for helping patients with spiritual issues so patients could begin and continue working the twelve step program as defined in the Big Book of Alcoholic Anonymous. Since I have this expertise I have been interested in establishing a ministry to those afflicted with addictive diseases. At this time St. Luke has a brown bag luncheon AA meeting every Wednesday at noon. Those who are responsible for organizing the meeting remain anonymous. It is planned that a regular evening AA meeting will begin in the future on Wednesday evenings.

Job Description

Responsible for the development and over site of AA meetings at St. Luke. Be available for 2nd and 7th step spiritual direction.

Current Events & Information

The Little Christmas Alcoholic Anonymous group is now meeting at St. Luke every Thursday at 7:30 PM. The group has been in existence since 1985. When founded the members took the name Little Christmas because ever day of sobriety was a new Christmas and the group was founded on Theophany which has been called Little Christmas. St. Luke is the third location since the group was organized. We are honored to have them meeting at St. Luke and we hope it will be a long association.

Co-Dependents Anonymous is now meeting at St. Luke every Sunday at 5:30 PM. Co-Dependents Anonymous is a fellowship of men and women whose common purpose is to develop healthy relationships. The only requirement for membership is a desire for healthy and loving relationships.
