Wednesday June 21st, 2006 - Prayer of the Week on on All Saints Sunday

Let us pray to the Lord. Lord have mercy.

O Lord Your proclamation has gone out into all the world . It was carried by those who place their love for You above their personal welfare. They showed the world that life without You was not worth living. We honor them and ask them to intercede for us. Through their prayers may we become strong in our faith and be witnesses by also spreading Your word. Give us love so we will be willing to lay down our life for another. We pray in the name of the Father Son and Holy Spirit. Amen

Friday June 16th, 2006 - Prayer of the Week on Pentecost

Let us pray to the Lord. Lord have mercy.

O Lord we pray today on our knees. Grant that we listen closely to the prayers which will be read on this day of Pentecost. May we not be distracted by feeling uncomfortable. As we kneel remind us that we have not kept Your commandments and are prideful and arrogant trying to make a name for ourselves. Bring us to repentance so we can be united in Love and be filled with the Holy spirit which You sent to comfort us and lead us to the truth. We pray in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Amen

Thursday June 8th, 2006 - Prayer of the Week on the Council of Nicea

Let us pray to the Lord. Lord have mercy (Taken from the Orthodox Study Bible)

O Lord remember Your Holy Church which you have purchased with Your precious blood. Confirm and strengthen it, enlarge and multiply it, keep it in peace, and preserve it unconquerable by the gates of hell forever. Heal the schisms or the churches, quench the ragings of heathen, speedily undo and root out the growth of heresies and bring them to naught the power of the Holy Spirit. Lead back those who have departed from the Orthodox faith, dazzled by the destroying heresies, do enlighten them by the light of Your holy wisdom, and unite them to Your Holy Church. We pray in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit Amen.
